Novena to The Infant Jesus of Prague

Precious Infant Jesus, We love You...
The original statue of the Child Jesus of Prague has been preserved for centuries in the former Carmelite parish church of Saint Mary of Victory in the city of Prague. This statue is made of wood covered with wax, and is abut nineteen inches high. The right hand is raised in blessing upon mankind, and the left hand holds a globe symbolic of the Divine Child as King of the whole world. A gold crown set with pearls was solemnly blessed and placed upon the head of the statue on April 4, 1655. The figure is clothed in a dalmatic and precious mantle, and is the model for thousands of similar statues found throughout the world.

Daily Prayer to the Infant Jesus

Divine Infant Jesus You chose for the time of Your birth a moment when the world was at peace. In the quiet of the night the angels sang: "Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth among men of good will." O Jesus, prince of peace, inspire now all men especially the heads of nations to work for a just and lasting peace. By Your good spirit establish the world in the ways of peace that in spirit coming again you may find us at peace with one another and so at peace with You. O Divine Infant Jesus behold us prostrate at your sacred feet. In the days of old many rejected You; but we invite You to come to us and in our hearts to live forever. With Your Immaculate Mother, Saint Joseph, and all the angels and saints we adore You. That we may the better do so grant us the virtues of Your holy infancy: obedience, simplicity, and great goodness. For myself in my present need grant me also the graces I here name. (Here mention your intentions.)

Eternal Father, I am not worthy to be heard before You, but for Your beloved Son's sake I beg You grant my petitions. I offer You the sufferings which from the beginning the Infant Jesus knew; the cold he endured in the cave at Bethlehem; His little tears and His gentle cries. I renew before You the memory of the blood He shed and the death He suffered -- all this that the world may know again a true and lasting peace.

O Immaculate Mary, Mother of the Infant Savior and my Mother, once again, we beg you, act in the splendor of your strength and take from the world the false doctrines that trouble its peace, so that soon nothing will remain to divide men among themselves or to separate them from Jesus Christ, the source of all unity, all blessing, and all peace.

Novena of Childlike Confidence

The following prayer is to be repeated at the same time every hour for nine consecutive hours. Divine Infant of Prague, dearest Jesus, You who so lovingly said: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you," have mercy on me now and through the intercession of our most holy Mother, I humbly ask You to grant me the grace I need. (Name your petition)

Dear Child Jesus, who left the bosom of the Father and cameinto the world for our salvation, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, who did not disdain the Virgin's womb, and who, being the Word made flesh, took upon Yourself the form of a servant, have mercy on us.
